If you ban pitbulls the trash that usually owns them will move on to another breed which will then become the new scapegoat. Pits aren't typically naturally aggressive or temperamental. I used to live in a city that banned pits and yes, pit attacks and complaints were non-existent. The scumbag pussies who wanted a pit would instead get a rott or a bull terrier (yes, really). Guess which dogs the city was considering banning next?

One of the only breeds I have seen that are naturally nasty is the chihuahua. Those rats should be eliminated world-wide.
