I went and saw it Saturday night with another Simpsons fan...we both were disappointed. I do think the problem is people have been waiting for years for something like this to come out, expecting it to wow them, and that can create a bit of a let down. I enjoyted it for the time I was in the threatre but I'm not sure I love it yet... mixed feelings.
It was basicly a giant simpsons episode with punchlines every 5-10 seconds when they are normally making a joke every minute.

I actually beg to differ with you on this one. I have a good friend at MySpace that got us onto the Fox lot to watch it in one of their screening rooms yesterday.
It seemed like the first ten minutes were kind of all over the place, but after it settled, it went on a steady plot. Not saying it was the greatest plot, but there was direction, with a beginning/middle/end. Reminded me slightly of writing prior to season 9... a good stream of jokes throughout, and several pretty clever scenes.
I'd say it is worth your money and time, even if you aren't a die-hard Simpson's fan.
