                                            just to add my but Pathfinder, people outside of the industry would consider you to be sick and have mental problems for being part of the porn industry and/or viewing content on a regular basis. it's all about perception and viewpoint. most of the younger people on this board don't seem to care about the jokes. it seems like some of the older people do. now i think it's at that point where the more it gets discussed the more they'll bring it up more :P

                                                    Sorry Pathfinder but you really need to sit and take a very long, hard look at yourself before you judge people that way. People who are so narrow minded and so self-opinionated (as well as utterly devoid of any sense of humour) have their own problems to worry about and shouldn't be worrying about other peoples. Your military career seems to creep into every post and to this day I have never understood why. It does not in any way make you a better person than anybody else and has no relevance whatsoever. I know an awful lot of long served ex-military people some who I have a lot of respect for, others I wouldn't piss on were they on fire.

                                                    'Sick' jokes will always offend some people it's the nature of them. However, to say that anybody who has a black sense of humour and can and does laugh at the more disturbing or upsetting things in life when presented in a humourous way means the people themselves are sick, is at best very misguided, narrow minded and bigoted.

                                                    Humour is a great way of coping with many of life's darker areas for many people. As I say, it wont appeal to everyone and perhaps when taken to extremes should not be expressed publicly to those who do not appreciate that style of humour. However, to claim that not being offended by it or even (shock horror!) finding it mildly amusing makes you sick shows an even more immature mind than that of the person posting it. Age and military service unfortunately do not bring wisdom or tolerance it seems.

Most people in ANY industry consider raping and harming children ILLEGAL, as in LONG prison sentences..... so be sure to sprout off some of those jokes to your local conservatives. There are tons of boards on the internet each board has its own sets of rules and behaviors to follow. For example you would talk about porn on any web forum the same principle applies here with child jokes.

I, like any other person on this board, or in life, are subject to critisism. I judge people based upon my standards, as I am sure that you do, and I do not apologize for doing so. I am definitely narrow minded about some subjects, and I supect that you are too. I have lived long enough on this earth that I certainly have developed strong opinions about certain subjects. I am not utterly devoid of any sense of humour. I find humour in something every day that I live. I do not have any problems that I feel I need to worry about and I don't spend a great deal of time concerning myself with what I percieve to be other peoples problems.

                                                                                                                                    I agree with Fletch. They are not funny, or even midly amusing. It is my opinion that anyone that finds humor in "sick jokes" has a mental problem.

                                                                                                                                    If it provides you with satisfaction to use your subjective opinion and label me as being "misquided, narrow minded, and bigoted", as well as being of immature mind, without wisdom and tolerance, so be it. Everyone is entitled to an opinion.

                                                                                                                                    When it comes to these humourless "sick" jokes about kids I will proudly wear all of the labels applied to me.

                                                                                                                                                Pathfinder - we'll agree to disagree on the humour point as I never like going around in circles and the point's been made both ways. Flaming wars of any sort are never my thing and I've always respected the fact that you have a set of standards you very much seem to stick to even though I may not agree with them all of the time, the above being a good example .... I'd started to post more but again we'd just end up on that roundabout.

                                                                                                                                                            there is a good point, if someone outside of the scene or unfamiliar with GFY comes to the board and sees a lot of jokes in poor taste, especially in regards to children, it doesn't look good for the adult webmaster scene. i will say that! we here all may know it's in good fun (or bad fun.. but nonetheless we know the person is trying to attempt some humor, and it doesn't reflect on everyone) but other people may not. first impressions can last a lifetime.

                                                                                                                                                                        I didn't consider it that either but things can degenerate into that especially on a point that's strongly contended but with no real right/wrong answers as it's more dependant upon perspective then anything else. I was more making the point that I was calling it a day as far as that discussion goes. I'll argue 'till the cows come home when there's a definitive answer but tend to find it futile when there isn't.
