If India gets nuked what is going to happen to the companies like Cisco who have businesses there? I was watching on CNBC that Cisco has all their research and development there. Does that mean these companies are going to have set backs? What do you think?

SHit a good chunk of the employes are Indians.
Instead of getting work Visas for these guys to come here, why not set up shop there in India?

I don't know the number of Nukes that either side has, or the size of the nukes. Both of these (as well as type) are important in estimating damage and fallout.
The media is tossing about different numbers of Nukes for both sides, but I have never seen a number tossed about on the size of the Nukes.
None the less the number of nukes being tossed about that Pakistan has is not enough to bring India to its knees. Set them back economically in a major way; yes. Cost them maybe a hundred million lives, in initial blast and fallout; yes. But if I remember correctly India has a population of close to 1 billion people so as a people and a nation they will survive.
The number of nukes being tossed about that India has would be a bigger problem for Pakistan. Pakistan only has a portion of the population of India and they do not have the land mass that India has.
If both sides detonated all of the Nukes that they "may" have, the fallout would effect peoples in other parts of the world. They do not have enough Nukes to cause a "Nuclear Winter".
Having said all of this; Nukes (depending upon size and type) do not have the ominpotent destructive power than some people imagine.Comment

I doubt it would come down to nukes, Pakistan already said they wouldn't use nukes unless India did.
Maybe we should send a msg to both of them, whoever uses nukes first will be nuked by us, have their country wiped clean and start over.

The A bombs we used on Japan were between 10-20 Kiliton bombs (equivilant to 10-20 thousand tons of TNT in initial blast).
Our average size Nuke is between 1-5 Megatons (equivilant to 1-5 million tons of TNT in initial blast). We have much larger bombs and at one point in time the U.S.S.R claimed to have either a 50 or 100 Megaton bomb.
The A bombs used on Japan were like firecrackers when compared to a 1 Megaton bomb.
What size bombs Pakistan and India have; I have never heard discussed by the media.Comment

If hype is to be believed, these countries have gotten their bombs from the former USSR which means that they have the prospect of being HUGE bombs. If instead they have built their own bombs (equally possible) they could be any size from relatively small to big 100 Megaton buggers. Hopefully the world will only find out when these two nations decide to peacefully disarm.Comment

If india and pak go at it I am sure other countries that wanted to nuke their enemies would go for it. China will want to take over taiwan. North Korea and South Korea. USA can't go in and try to stop off of this shit cause many countries could try to hit the US.

I knew a person from Pakistan who claimed his father was one of the scientists that helped to develop Pakistans' Nukes. If he was truthful then Pakistan made their own Nukes.

If India is nuked not much will change, except appx. 1/12th of the world population lives in India, and if that country gets fucked up then it will undoubtedly affect SouthEast Asia, including all of the chip making countries like Taiwan and South Korea, each of which is downwind from India and will likely suffer radiation poisoning.Comment
