...and was in the store for less than ten minutes. I normally take my dog with me when I go out of the house as he loves the ride. When I came out an old woman was standing by my truck...and my dog was inside barking at her. The outside temperature was mid 70's. I had both truck windows amply cracked so the inside temperature of the truck would have been possibly 5 degrees or so higher than the outside temperature. Certainly not life threatening in any way for my dog.
She informed me that she had called the police for animal abuse and endangering my dog...and proceeded to chew me out. I thanked her for her concern for animals and politely explained that my dog was not in any danger of harm...but she would have none of it. I waited for the police to show up ..during which time she continued to berate me. When the officer showed up and while I was explaining the situation to him...the old woman kept interrupting and demanding that I be arrested and that my dog be removed from me.
When he politely told her that he would do neither...because it was not a case of abuse or endangerment...she turned her ire onto the officer. When I drove off she was still yelling at the officer and I would not be surprised if he did not end of arresting her.
Funny and sad at the same time.
