Google rolled out a PR update back in June/July (I forget), then rolled it back a week or two later. They've since rolled out this one, which is probably what the first one was supposed to be.
What I find interesting about this whole thing is that it seems to indicate that Google might not keep dynamic PR. The only reason for them to roll back the update otherwise would be if it was displaying the wrong algorithm, but that should be a simple fix if PR is really dynamically updated.
Google, then, might only update PR with its toolbar. That said, PR itself isn't a ranking factor. It's just a bench mark of some ranking factors, so I don't think it really matters anyway.

Noticed some new PR6 domains (not mine) with lack of content and barely any incoming links to them. Weird.
