    What was your 1st Fake ID, and where did it come from?

    When I wanted to buy Alcohol, and was undergage, I needed an ID... Rather than 'Making One' (This is before computers) I joined a Karate Club.

    They offered you a Leather Bound 'Karate Licence' as an up-sell... So I got it, and it looked really official. Even had a passport photo of me, embossed into the design

    I filled in my fake Age, and signed a load of 'Belts' myself, and signed some nonsense about promising that as my "fists were lethal weapons, I wouldn't use them in anger" (lol) that was also printed inside the 'Licence' LOL

    I never returned to Karate...

    However whenever I purchased alcohol, I got a healthy dose of respect from the store people, who complimented me on looking so young, having achieved so much, and most importantly... Giving them a 'Proper' ID and not a silly fake one ! LOL

    What was yours?

              When I was 18 a buddy of mine worked at a bar... We went through the fakes and found one that kind of looked like me in the face (Glasses, dark hair, some facial hair)... Only problem was the guy's last name was Sanchez, and he was 5'9" and I am 6'5" and at the time was borderline albino.


              For some reason thought that thing worked EVERYWHERE. Got through scanners, doormen, liquor stores... was pretty nuts.

              It finally cracked a few weeks before I was 21 but I didn't really care at that point.

                              I had a simler thing while I was working in San Diego...

                              Not a 'fake ID' as such, but my boss would send me to places like Frys for tech stuff, and give me the company credit card. I had no photo ID myself so he would give me his Driving license...

                              Although he looked NOTHING like me... No one gave more than a second glance to the photo on the ID... Just having it was enough lol

                                  Never. Over here you don't have to be 21 to be allowed to drink a beer, but 16. If a 15 year old enters a pub and orders a beer, he'll get it, no questions asked. If a 16 year old buys liquor from a store, no one will care.

                                  So no need for fake IDs over here. No one who thinks it's "cool to be able to get beer", because it's just beer and everyone can get it. No one who thinks it's cool to get drunk etc.

                                          My fake ID was a real ID with no picture on it, I borrowed my mates when I was 16 (he was 19) to get into discos. Required age was 18.

                                                                              Between the ages of 14 and 18 I had no trouble getting into clubs in London, Manchester or Melbourne. I remember being denied once at the door of the Hacienda in Manchester when I was 16 (1983/1984), not because of my age but because the security guard thought I had some drugs and wanted a cut. I didn't have any drugs and got in later that night when someone else was on the door. There was so much graft running through the Uk club scene in those days that underage patrons were the last of the clubs worries.

This was before the hologram overlay of course. In the dimly lit bars, and even in the well lit distributors, it worked very well.
