I used a razor blade and a magnifying glass to doctor my own license. This was before the hologram overlay of course. In the dimly lit bars, and even in the well lit distributors, it worked very well. I never tried to get into any high class clubs/bars, because of how thoroughly they looked everyone over. Simple tools and common sense
