Visit one of the expired domain search sites listed above and see whats dropping. The one I use lets you type in keywords and separate between tlds (.com,.net, etc), as well as filtering by drop date.
So, for example, I type in date in the search box and browse through the names available in a day or two. Dateorfun.com was available at the time and I thought it was a good name so I grabbed it as soon as it became available.
Usually there are a lot of nice domains that creative people came up with but never ended up using. I start checking for it throughout that day when it is supposed to be dropped and if i can snag it.
You have to be quick or willing to buy a snap sometimes if the name is awesome. About two weeks ago I found pornshop.com was expiring but someone with a snap beat me to it. Now its at a link farm. ={
I just did a search for porn and saw maturepornclip.com has been available since yeestday and is still available. I don't have time to search for a better example but you get the point.
