Yes that is essential advice. I warn people also of the dangers of using red socks and yellow socks. It also helps if the lighting guy, sound man, cameraman and director all have matching black socks.

The editor can of course wear any color he wishes. However no socks and sandals is not recommended.

Regarding paperwork: After booking the model I send a full page "SHOOT SPECS" by email to the model or agent. It has everything on it from a description of the assignment, pay and wardrobe to how I want the toe nails to look. Even so, I am astonished at how many agents (especially agents) and models don't bother to read it. Paperwork is done before the shoot, no exceptions. After the model signs everything I ask "How much are we paying you today and what are you doing?" We don't proceed one inch further until pay and assignment are clearly understood. Payment is always made in cash at the end of the shoot.

Looking forward to reading it.
