Just got an "annual Whois POC Validation" email from arin.net, is this a scam?

They tell me to login with them and confirm my whois data.. this is the first time I've seen this in the 8 years I've been around.

    Is this a scam?

    Here's the email :

Once you have created your account, please log in to your account and modify the POC information.

After validating your POC information, please take a few minutes to review your Organization data in ARIN's Whois to ensure it, too, is up-to-date. If your company sub-delegates IP address blocks to downstream customers, your organization is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all downstream organization and POC information. Maintaining accurate Whois data is contractually required for all resources registered under ARIN's Registration Services Agreement.

I got a few of those last month from NameCheap. I logged in directly and couldn't find anything about it inside the admin. However, they did only say to make sure the info is correct and I didn't have to click on anything.

I don't trust anything that comes to me like that.

It's real, I got a few of my notices this week as well.

                Dear Richard,

This is your annual notice that all registered domain names must have accurate and updated contact information.

Please review the domain information below and verify its accuracy. If all information is up-to-date then no changes are necessary. Inaccurate or outdated information must be corrected by logging into your account.

While we do respect your privacy, we are required by ICANN, our regulating authority, to send these notices annually to all domain contacts. To learn more about this process and why it is required, please visit ICANN?s website: http://www.icann.org/whois/wdrp-registrant-faq.htm

Please remember that under the terms of your registration agreement, providing false or inaccurate Whois (contact) information can be grounds for the cancellation of your domain name registration.

Lots of registrars send out whois notices yearly, as required by icann.

If your up to date, ignore is often how the ones I get work, yours it looks like you have to click to confirm.
