A domain you want in the deletion process

Is there a service you can use to grab it before anyone else? I let one of my smaller domains expire and want to grab it back again before anyone else.

Call your registar and see if they'll help. Namecheap was fairly nice about it when I accidentally let one go for a bit after expiring. GoDaddy basically told me to go fuck myself.

You can purchase a domain snap which is when a registrar tries to purchase the domain for you as soon as it becomes available. They cost i think between 40 and 60 usd. The problem with that is that if someone else does a snap and beats you, not only did you lose out on the domain, but the money as well. Have you tried contacting your registrar? The name may still be salvageable. Is it in redemption?

Snaps are the only other option that I know of if you can't negotiate with the registrar. You can usually get them at any registrar to my knowledge, I think a lot of folks here use snapnames.com, but I don't really know that for sure. Check the expired domain list to see exactly when it will be available.

      I use this one, http://www.pool.com/viewlist.aspx

Best of luck to you, hope you get your name back.

I was trying not to post today but god damn are you stupid. I've never seen one of those services charge you if they are unable to acquire the domain for you. You really shouldn't comment on shit you know nothing about it.

I was saying that if he can't get the name back, he can pay for a snap. The snap will try to grab the name as soon as it comes out of pending delete status. Maybe i didn't explain myself properly? I think they may actually be called monitoring services? The term my boss used when he used to purchase them were snaps. I've been working in mainstream web since 03 and we have ordered this a few times before for some clients who had lost their domain names accidentally and could not get them back via the registrar.

If I am wrong though, sorry for misinforming anyone. Maybe my information is outdated? I usually use pending delete searches, then stay up and manually snag the names I want. At the art studio though, my boss isn't going to stay up to 3 am waiting for a domain to come out of the pool, he pays, or used to pay 40 bucks for the registrar to do his dirty work.

Here is Godaddy's version of this for 20 bucks (which i hear is not the best one to use) http://www.godaddy.com/domainaddon/domain-alert.aspx. At best you can get a credit if they don't get your domain, some wont even give you that though. Sorry for all the posts, just trying to make sure I cover everything =D
