i couldnt care less and didnt watch any of the movies.. but... only 40 million? who got the rest ?

there have been like 7 Harry potter movies already?

i thought he'd be worth over $100M

5 movies with 2 more to be made. He hasn't got paid for those yet nor the DVD sales on this current movie. Also he's an ACTOR. He didn't write the books. Got to remember when the first movie came out he probably got paid very little considering he was a nobody and no one knew if the movie would even do any good.

Don't forget about taxes.

Everyone think movie stars are worth hundreds of millions. Not true. There are very few that are in the hundreds of millions level. I'd say the only ones that are, are ones that produce their own films and get percentages of the gross. The likes of Mel Gibson, Tom Cruise, etc.

Yeah but I thought Harry Potter movies earn as much as Tom Cruise movies

then again, i don't really follow the Hollywood industry

im not saying 40 million is nothing, im not one of those guys who say things like that, but i was under the impression there were like 7 movies already and the whole thing probably lasts already 7 years as well (again, no idea exactly when it started)
