    PEOPLE LIVING ALONE - how often do you go out, see friends etc ?

    do you have some days where you sit at home alone and don't interact with
    any other people in real life at all? (so ICQ or GFY don't count)
    or do you always meet up with someone every day?

    if not, then what's the longest you can go sitting at home, not meeting
    friends, your partner (if you have her/him), family members, or not even
    just going out to the gym etc.... ?

    ordering a pizza and talking for 20 seconds with the pizza guy doesnt count
    I don't use ICQ anymore.

      hey polish, reading your posts lately i think you need to get out more dude... go to the gym or run every day, it will help fix your sleeping patterns and is a good break from work.

          im working on fgn with my friend here in my apartment, without that contact i will be with people in real life once/twice per week ... i dont have time to go out when im working on fgn and the day have only 24hours ;)

              see family/friends - once a week, working - 24/7/365, going to the beach - at least 3 times a week, jogging - 5 days a week (for one hour)

              so all in all very little interraction with other human beings

                  I live with my gf, but if I hadn't I bet I would sit in a lot from time to time. When I work, I seem to forget everything else and just keep working till it's dark. Thank god for fotball practice twice a week, and beerdrinking in the weekends.

                                      if not, then aren't your friends working? even if you dont have to work that much, then your friends are probably doing it so you cant really spend most of the days with them....

                                          If the boys are gone, I can easily go weeks without having outside interaction. I tend to be a loner by nature, and when you add the isolating nature of our work, and all the stuff I do because of being a single parent...well, it adds up to not alot of people time.

                                                  Well, first off i was in canada not the US.

                                                  Anyhow, the girls here are better but the city im near, lublin, has alot of students as theres lots of universities. Being summer, alot of them went home and most of the girls I see walking around the street are like 17. Not very many my age (22) although there are a few.

                                                  Now, im not actually in lublin. I'm about 40km away in a village called firlej that is like a little hick town with a lake. I'm here because my dad has a huge empty house here. I have so much family in this village that I'm scared to hit on a girl because she'll probably turn out to be a cousin or something.

                                                  I have no car here yet, and know only a handful of people so I'm basically stuck in this little village during the week. It has a pretty nice lake with lots of people thats very warm, but that gets boring after a couple days.

                                                  I guess its still just the culture shock for me. None of my favorite restaurants are here, I've lived in canada for 19 years so the language, while i know it, is a bit foreign to me at times since there are alot of words I don't know. The food is all different, cars are all different, everythings suddenly written in another language. Even the things you dont think about are, like the hours of operation for a store.

                                                  I suppose back in canada the only thing different is i'd have more errands to run...Here i'm just working, sitting at lake, and otherwise pretty bored. Other then that, Alcohol here is dangerously cheap.

                                                                              Office, rugby training and matches, football and rugby watching, I entertain at least once a week, I go out at least twice a week.

                                                                              I guess I interact with people most of the time, but sometimes it is great to spend a day just pottering around at home watching a film, cooking, doing the washing, etc.

                                                                                      I live alone with my cat, but I have human interaction every day, between going to the gym every day, and I do 3-4 shoots per week which entails multiple people, plus my two part-time employees come over my house to work.

                                                                                          I wouldnt suggest moving back to Poland either, I love going back there every summer and winter, but I think I have a better life here, I can stay home a few days out of a week, obviously it sucks being alone but sometimes privacy and peacefulness can be a good thing to just recoup.Then go crazy the rest of the week ;)~

Between my family, friends, and neighbors, there is someone in and out, all day. It's just now 11:00 am and four people have already been in here. One of my friends came in at 7:00 this morning to get a pair of shoes she wanted to wear to lunch with her boss today, and I literally just got off the phone with my cousin who informed me that I will be going with her to pick out some new dining room chairs this afternoon.

                                                                                                                  I swear I have the most codependent friends and family, of anyone on the planet. They won't go ANYWHERE by themselves. And it's always me they drag along. And to make matters worse, I've given so many of their dumbasses keys, that even if I try to hide or not answer the phone or door, they just come on in and then look at me like I'm crazy and say, "What are you doing in here??!!"

I actually make it a point to go out at some point every day to the mall, run errands, go where the people are, etc.

                                                                                                                      As for friends. I normally meet at least one of them once a week for lunch. I also have the photoshoots, but those do not really count because it's work, and not chit chat.

                                                                                                                      Then I see friends, family, whatever at least one of the days on the weekend all depending. But when I don't, the weekends are very long, lonely, and boring. So I know where you are coming from.

                                                                                                                      In regards to your other post chum... having all the money in the world to build yourself a golden prison doesn't make you happy.

                                                                                                                              It's seasonal. In the summers I see, and hang out with friends more because of golf, basketball, and such after work and on the weekends. Also looking at either a boat, or a couple of jetskiis for some added flavor later this year, or next.

                                                                                                                              The colder months it's harder. Also all my friends are now married, or have kids. So I am like the lone wolf anymore, and they are all working their 2-3 jobs trying to make ends meet, etc, etc.

As for "real life friends" as in interacting with OTHER actual real people made out of flesh and blood, umm never. I don't go out on weekends socializing, clubbing, partying etc. I never did that, not even when I was younger, not even in high school. I was already alone back then.

                                                                                                                                              I'm used to being alone and have been used to it my whole life so it's nothing new to me. Even back in high school I didn't have a lot of friends and used to eat lunch alone in the career center/library. Also in college I didn't make one friend either. (Only went for a few classes though) I never understood how people made friends or just started talking to each other out of the blue. I find it bizarre actually when people who don't know each other can strike up a conversation and just start talking.

                                                                                                                                              I run errands a lot though, such as buy groceries, get my hair cut, go shopping, drop of dry cleaning, etc but I don't interact with the people more than I have to, only the minimal required in order to get my business done.

                                                                                                                                              I am at the point where I'm comfortable being alone and fine being alone. I don't really want to make any new friends.

                                                                                                                                              If I didn't have a significant other I'd probably not interact with anyone. I could probably die and no one would find out. I don't find it sad though because I'm used to being alone and I can entertain myself without needing other people.

                                                                                                                                                      Oh and to answer your question, before I had a significant other, there were times when I didn't interact with anyone at all for months at a time. Back then I did have one friend and we would hang out in person when she wasn't busy, around once every 2 weeks or perhaps sometimes once a week, but there was a time when we got in a huge disagreement and we didn't speak at all for a few months. I don't remember exactly how long, perhaps around 2-3 months? During that time I went through a weird period where I didn't interact with anyone at all for quite a long time.

                                                                                                                                                      I'm happy I have my significant other because at least I have someone to interact with now. I don't need to have a lot of friends though, interacting with one person is enough for me I guess. 2 would be ideal. one significant other and one friend.

                                                                                                                                                          Also, now that I feel more confident and secure, I feel ok doing things by myself like going to the movies by myself etc So even if I didn't have a significant other I think I would still do activities by myself like go to see movies and perhaps eat inside a restaurants even by myself. I don't really care about what people think as much anymore. I won't ever be completely alone, because even if I'm going by myself, there will still be other people around me, so at least I'm not completely isolated.

                                                                                                                                                                  Most days, say 95 out of a 100 I keep meeting people (friends, people I do business with etc) but I wish I had a bit more privacy. Sometimes it can be great to be alone for a day or two to relax and sort things out. Overall I'm happy and love my current situation.
