Would YOU do business with someone who primarily uses a free / hotmail address?
Im not talking about trading traffic off your tranny tgp, but actual business.
it was pretty easy to install the last time i tried it several versions ago. once it's in, it's real nice. you can read your mail via HTTP, POP, IMAP (all over SSL if you prefer). setting up mailboxes is totally easy, too. it's designed for isps but it works fine for anybody.
I use www.mail2web.com all the time when I am not at my PC. Works like a charm.

I wont.
Personal business shouldn't be done any other way than telephone, webbased email addresses can be just as easily frauded,as I'm sure you're aware... REAL business = conducted over the telephone or face to face...who cares if somebody uses a hotmail account for personal use,I have an aol account for that as well... BUT yes I will agree if you want to be taken half way seriously at least have an @domain email address....

Real business is done over icq.
When I buy 10k USD worth the traffic from some kid in Spain, I am not flying over there.
I have done 10s of thousands of dollars worth the business with people and never so much as heard their voice.
Face it. Hotmail is in da hizzy yo. They will send you a text message for every email you get! Who could ask for anything more!
SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.
ICQ is a fucking joke the only positive aspect of it to ME,is that it saves the convo logs and what not.The banenr son the message boxes and just the overall construction of it are pitiful. My voice is sexy,I'll do my business that way
*notes to self, create alias, befriend Labret for 2 months, then screw him out of $10k*

I use Yahoo email. It rocks. I've had the same email address at Yahoo ever since I can remember. I use for when I travel. It's all set up - I can answer my personal email as well as all Lightspeed Media email as well. Also, it has a full address book where I keep ALL of my contact information so I can use it from any computer hooked up to the Internet.
Couldn't live without it.
I also use ICQ Lite. When I'm on the road I'm fully operational!
i use hotmail because if my server goes down, all my other email does as well. i use it for server announcements from my provider (i.e. "you didn't pay your bill fucknut") or something else.
i suppose i could use yahoo or any other free service, but with 2353254 billion users, hotmail will always be around, and i can also use that account to be my msn messenger addy :P
note: i'm not "hiding" or anything, it's just a solid foundation for the one company's email that i need. it would also be useful to use it for domains, so your domain's email address for the owner isn't the same as the domain (i.e. domain expires, you want to renew, you forget your password, depending on the RSP, you = fucked.)
it'll also cut down on the registry-harvesting spammer fucks.
