Right now the fucking country it's ruled by Cuban officials with very high positions in Venezuelan government in other countries a president allowing this would be considered a traitor, NOT IN VENEZUELA!!
Before Chavez the law in Venezuela didn't allow an active president to be a candidate for the next elections neither be re-elected. With Chavez all that changed and Venezuelans are still too stupid to understand why.
Chavez it's being using all Venezuelan patriotic icons to blind the people and if you go right now to a Venezuelan embassy you'll find a picture of Ché Guevara or even Fidel. And once again Venezuelans buy it.
Great companies in Venezuela are closing their doors or moving to Colombia because Chavez it's being nationalizing all companies to have even more power. Go to a supermarket in Venezuela and you'll see empty shelves. Venezuela it's not producing any more goods, everything has to be imported from other countries
I agree with you about Chavez buying protection from Russia, China and other countries. I would even add that Chavez is being putting the Venezuelans money in other countries to buy protection and get more power. There are a couple of presidents from South America who are in power because Chavez founded their presidential campaigns.
