u.s. is taking it by buying it, and thats how it will stay.
consider the fact that chavez has been in power since 1999, that is 12 years, so if the u.s. had anything going they would have long since made their move.
keep in mind that while u.s. has their "bodyguards" as you so rightly put it, china has theirs, but 10s of millions more...
on edit- come to think about it, if u.s. did do something stupid by trying to invade venezuela that could easily be the start of WWIII.
