If you use ICQ through Trillian ...

Do you often get this message when trying to send a message (especially offline ones):

"*** Error while sending IM: This user is currently not logged on"

It looks innocent but appears to sometimes stop the offline message being sent and I am getting it more and more these days.

Does anybody else get this often?

Fix (workaround) for the above issue
If they take you OFF the visible list,
you will be able to send them messages.

You will obviously not be able to see them because they are invisible,
and you are NOT on the visible list,
but you will be able to send messages back and forth.

This problem had been driving me crazy till I tried this.
This is obviously not a solution, but it will at least
fix one of the symptoms untill
whoever the cause of the problem itself fixes it.

I switched to pidgin to but sometimes it tells me my list is 2 full and I cant have anymore contacts wtf? Do you know how to fix this?

P.S. I noticed aim lets you send a message when a user is of line. I am not sure if it works though? the other person gets your message.

Means you haven't added them to your contact list.
Add them and the problem is solved.

Tested it with Vista at the office and went back to Trillian basic. Astra was even worse when I tested.

Yes, I do the same that quantum-x said. It doesnt hit me too much, but I just add or re-add them to a group and then it sends.

Problem I have is it never saves who I've added, but then I wind up with half dozen of the same person added..

I also accidently changed one persons message window and now it shows my typing field on the left, and the chat field on the right and I have NO IDEA how to change it!!!! LOL! Trillian sucks for any documentation or GOOD faq!

very rarely. about the only times is when the other person isn't on my contact list and they are offline when I'm trying to send the message.

I get it for people that have been on my contact list for years. I really don't message people unless they have been added to my list first.

I like trillain because of the history, mostly.

You can grab the top of the panel and drag it to another part of the chat window.
