This happened today about paysite to paysite password sharing

I contacted another paysite today and said that I have a friend that is a huge fan of their site. He was asking me if I could get him a user/pass so I said sure I will ask them. They told me to basically fuck off and he should pay for the said user/pass. I suggested I would give them a pass for FTV if I could get one to their site. Seems to me a password trade is a professional courtesy. A perk of what we do.

Honestly I couldnt believe it. If anyone asks for a password to check out our sites. I 100% always give them one.

My question is how many of you guys would be cool with trading a membership for a membership if a fellow paysite owner asked you for one?

So maybe they dont need mine but is it too much to ask for pass? Takes 2 minutes to make one, you can have it expire in a day, a year, or a month. whatever, just seems crazy to me.

If you have an existing relationship with the other paysite (friendship or biz), then I don't see what the big deal would be. If the friend is asking for a pass, he probably won't be buying anyway.

If I were to just get a random email from somebody asking that, it'd just get trashed and if they hit me up another way I'd blame it on my spam filter.

PS I don't need a password to FTV.

I've had people refuse me access even to do my work and promote them, as a review site. The worst is the new affiliate reps who say okay, and then give you 3 days access.

I really love it when I get lifetime passes (ahem, chris...), because I can login whenever and don't have to bother people when I get the urge to update. Just make the password entropy really good and it shouldn't be a problem.

I always figured giving passwords was a good way to build trust with potential affiliates, especially if you're a revshare program.

I regard anyone that comes into HGV as someone that has the potential to be a brand ambassador. If one person likes something and tells one or two more... doesn't matter if they are an affiliate, a surfer, a producer, etc., word of mouth is powerful advertising.

By the same token, some people end up converting to paying members when the free part ends.
