Hey all :-)

I'm new here (obviously) and I'm here to ask a question I''m sure many others have asked before me (sorry!)

My partner and I make our own home-grown videos and I have been researching left, right and center as to how we can get our own paysite. Unfortunatley my web design skills are lacking and I'm looking for a paysite partner but so far my attempts have turned out a lot of folk who don't look very trustworthy. I was wondering if anyone here can point me in the right direction?

We are both alternative types, tattooed and pierced who enjoy making fetish videos, mainly panty fetish. We have a couple of clip stores that we do quite well on, but we would like to take things further and have come here for advice.

I would post a picture or two but I checked out an old thread with a similar theme and a few naughty people said she looked like a tranny lol so you can understand my hesitation ;-)

McCabre...i love it.

Violet, its not so difficult to do a paysite, here are some basics.
1)get a good web host for VPS (virtual private server which is less expensive but great) or Dedicated Hosting. I suggest Amerinoc (see my signature) who are quite dependable and fast with customer response.
2)you could simply shop around for a web designer to do your site or take a little time and buy some software like dreamweaver and make your own site. there is plenty of good inexpensive software for making websites nowadays.
3)CMS - content management system for the members area. i know alot of people just do straight html, so if its a relatively small paysite you can use normal html pages easily, but if its huge i would recommend a more involved CMS.
4)getting traffic to your site- obviously you already have clips for sale accounts so you can post your website there, but you should also consider adding a few domain names to your hosting account and doing sites and blogs you can submit and trade traffic with other sites. this will also help getting you on search engines because if you have a small network of sites pointing to your paysite you can have multiple keywords getting ranked to help with traffic to your paysite.

these are just some basic things you need, the point is you might kiss 50 percent of your profit goodbye by taking on a partner, when in reality you can do it yourself.

Caligari, thanks for the sensible reply. I can do web design with dreamweaver, I'm not too bad at it, its just the paysite/members area bit I'm struggling with. Ive had a few attempts at making something but so far they have been VERY primative. Its only going to be a small site, hopefully a cross between watch-us-fuck.com and mybestfetish.com. I'm pretty sure I could set most things up except the private area. Also, I was wanting to offer webcam services via the site and have no idea how to do that, which is why I was looking for someone who could do this for me and keep it maintained and take a cut of the profits.

I should also point out that whether or not you end up getting a partner you should absolutely have your own web hosting with your domain(s) registered YOURSELF.

this way down the road if you dump your partner, you retain your server and your domain names without hassle.

whatever host you go with make sure to check coupons by doing a search like "Amerinoc coupons" to get a discount on your hosting.
Amerinoc has i believe still one going for half off your first order which is HUGE.

forget a paysite, get on MyFreeCams - you can sell your videos on there as well. you'll make 5-10 times more on MFC then you'll make with a paysite. Ask all the MFC girls with paysites - most don't even want to bother with their paysites anymore.

I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!

Hey there, I am fairly new as well.

I do my own work but, from what I have seen in the past few months, there are many great designers on here. http://www.zuzanadesigns.com/ does a lot of very nice looking work for many adult sites. There is another adult design studio that really makes some nice work but I forgot their name. I am going to hopefully find it later and post the link. I think its something rocket studio. Very very nice flash work and graphic design.

For now though, check out zuzanna and with any luck someone else may be able to link the other guys.

I've had a few of our customers email me and tell me to get of MFC, I'll check it out. We're mainly on adultwork at the moment but my webcam wont work with their program, which Im trying to get fixed. I also have a few websites interested in buying our videos for their amateur sections. I'll go check out MFC though, thanks :-)

If you are using firefox hit ctrl f for the find bar and type in web then just sift through the threads for designers. If a designer here screws someone over, youll read about it on their threads, lol. These guys are great but they dont take any shit!

i would suggest you do the webcam thing as a separate deal. there are companies that can set you up and take a %.
if as you say its a small site, content management should be easy.
you can have your main menu page with links to pics, videos, live cam and updates.
then on the pics page for instance you can have links to all the galleries you make and add links as you make more galleries.

pretty easy although time consuming, but thats the nature of doing your own thing.

if you're shooting your own content its stupid not to have a paysite, although i would agree that any and all avenues such as camsites should be utilized as well.
