Michele Bachmann: Like Palin except less hot and even dumber

BACHMANN: "The farm is my father-in-law's farm. It's not my husband and my farm. It's my father-in-law's farm. And my husband and I have never gotten a penny of money from the farm." ? On "Fox News Sunday."

THE FACTS: In personal financial disclosure reports required annually from members of Congress, Bachmann reported that she holds an interest in a family farm in Independence, Wis., with her share worth between $100,000 and $250,000.

BACHMANN: "Well what I want them to know is, just like John Wayne was from Waterloo, Iowa, that's the kind of spirit that I have, too." ? Speaking to Fox News on Sunday.

THE FACTS: Wayne was born in Winterset, Iowa, nearly three hours away, and moved to California in his childhood. John Wayne Gacy, convicted of killing 33 men and boys, was born in Chicago, moved to Waterloo to work in his father-in-law's chicken restaurants and first ran afoul of the law there, sentenced to 10 years for sodomy. He began his killing spree after his release, and his return to Illinois

BACHMANN: "It's ironic and sad that the president released all of the oil from the strategic oil reserve. ... There's only a limited amount of oil that we have in the strategic oil reserve. It's there for emergencies." ? On CBS' "Face the Nation" on Sunday.

THE FACTS: Obama did not empty all the oil from the strategic reserve, as Bachmann said. He approved the release of 30 million barrels, about 4 percent of the 727 million barrels stored in salt caverns along the Texas and Louisiana coasts. It's true that the U.S. normally taps the reserve for more dire emergencies than exist today, and that exposes Obama to criticism that he acted for political gain. But the reserve has never been fuller; it held 707 million barrels when last tapped, after 2008 hurricanes.

BACHMANN: "One. That's the number of new drilling permits under the Obama administration since they came into office." ? Comment to a conservative conference in Iowa in March.

THE FACTS: The Obama administration issued more than 200 new drilling permits before the Gulf oil spill alone. Over the past year, since new safety standards were imposed, the administration has issued more than 60 shallow-water drilling permits. Since the deep water moratorium was lifted in October, nine new wells have been approved.

Als don't forget she also said Obama was opening FEMA re-education camps and was going to have Death Panels for the elderly and sick.

The best part is that polls in Iowa have her nearly tied with Romney as the front runner.

Normally it is the democrats who never fail to find new and interesting ways to lose elections, but it seems like the republicans are playing that game now.

I actually, honestly believe Palin is way dumber than Bachman. Bachman is at least in the shit and has some clue and hasn't quit her job mid-term.

Yes, and this is the biggest problem. To stupid people she seems well educated and likable. I can't imagine the shit she would do if she got into office.

For one thing... She was quoted as saying that Iran should be nuked off the map.

There you go with your liberal bias... haven't you learned that facts have no bearing on the conversation? I have found that 99% of people who call themselves conservatives or Republicans only choose to believe things that support their idiotic support of people like Michele Bachmann.

Try to explain to any conservative that more than 70% of the national debt was added by the pen of a Republican President and they will try and blame it on Congress (although Republicans controlled Congress when most of it was added).

Try to explain that massive deregulation of financial services led to the financial disaster in 2008 and they will say it was housing assistance for low income people.

Try and explain how the Bush Tax cuts added $2.5 Trillion to the debt so far and they will say that tax cuts don't contribute to the debt... even after you explain to them the simple fact that spending more and taking in less adds to the debt. They will trumpet the false claim that lower taxes means higher tax receipts...

Try and explain to them that the middle class actually pays more taxes than the wealthy as a percentage of income AND percentage of taxes overall and that $1.2 Trillion annually in subsidies to corporations and tax loopholes for wealthy people is wealth redistribution... they will deny it and their heads will explode.

Try and explain to them that 8.5 million jobs were lost between Dec 2007 and Dec 2009 and that the stimulus stopped the bleeding of jobs and lowered the unemployment rate to a stable point and they will continue to say the stimulus failed.

Try to explain to them that when the President said that the stimulus would result in 8% unemployment he was right and that the effort by Republican legislatures and governors in 24 states to reduce the size of government and cut spending has led to both public job loss and private job loss in those states. The net result has been a national increase in the unemployment rate. As a matter of fact, the average result in those states that are cutting spending has been a 1% increase in the unemployment rate, 2.1% loss of private employment and a 2.9% contraction in economic growth.

I could go on and on... but I imagine that the "conservative adult webmaster" trolls will have plenty to bloviate about with these items.

Bachmann is a moron. Really you are surprised? If you can not see how the media is shaping the elections by putting these people in the front you are blind. Empty suite after empty skirt. They will all bow to the bankers and corporate masters. Obama is no different.

This about sums it up. Tax the middle class to give to the chosen ones.

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner told the House Small Business Committee on Wednesday that the Obama administration believes taxes on small business must increase so the administration does not have to ?shrink the overall size of government programs.?

In reference to that quote of Tim Geithner, the context is letting the Bush Tax Cuts expire for those earning $250k/year and higher.

John Wayne is from Iowa, his parents met and lived in Waterloo and its where he was conceived...however he was born in Winterset. Watch the documentary - Duke: The Life and Image of John Wayne, it goes over the whole thing.
