Got the same email from gandi 2 weeks ago. I had 72 domains there and moved them all away.
To be honest, this is actually a good sign. The ICM knows their intended audience is not interested in buying .xxx domains so now they are trying to scare mainstream businesses in paying some useless protection fee.
On Gandi: As a registrar offering your clients the ability to register .xxx domains is one thing. Spreading FUD to scare your clients into buying protecting is whole other thing.
Fuck the .xxx tld, fuck the icm registry, fuck gandi.
