Fellow Content Providers Question ???

Hey... I have a question for fellow "content providers"... We usually sell big packages of content, and supply it to the buyer on a Hard Drive...

However we're going to be selling smaller packages... of individual girls, with 8-10 pic sets, and 8-10 matching videos.

My question is this... I am not sure how to supply this content, I ideally want to make it downloadable, but due to the video being HD, the files are massive... I would guess each girls content would be somewhere between 10-20 gig !!! I am guessing that's way too big to make downloadable ???

Suggestions please...

I am not a content provider but my idea for a cheaper solution to a hard drive may be a thumb drive like this?

If you are only searching for a downloadable way then maybe split the content into multiple 1 or 2 gig segments and set up an account per customer via ftp. Ive ordered small sets for site design and they basically have an ftp account for me that has my old files and whatever new ones i purchase, i downloaded like a gigs worth without any issues, and can d/l or re d/l it on whenever. No idea how long hey actually keep the stuff up there but it seems like a fairly long time. That way seems kind of like a pain though, i say thumb drives lol.

In the past when I sold packages of multiple girls or single girls what I do is upload and make a seperate ftp for each package and have them download via ftp.

Hey Robert...

The problem is even doing individual girls, with 10 pic sets and 10 videos, would result in a 10-20 gig load... now my connection in the UK pretty much sucks... I can load 1 gig up pretty much in 8 hours lol... so would take me 3-7 days to upload 1 girl !!! That's just crazy... especially as it would slow my system down to do other stuff too...

I guess I am going to have to stay with the whole selling it via hard drive, or at least DVD's...

I did think of offering a regular version (at a lower price) with the pics already re sized to 1600 high, along with videos in wmv instead of M2t (HD) files... I mean not everyone wants HD anyways...

We are currently looking for people to broker our content, and have one or two offers from companies to do this... I guess if I am honest I am always a little paranoid when we dont manage things... please dont take that personally... just from one or two bad experiences we had

10-20 GB will fit easily on a Blu-Ray disk. You can get them in the US for around $150-200.

Sounds like you need to invest in your business and get a better internet connection mate. Will soon pay for itself, people want instant download nowadays.

Alas currently in the area I live, I have the best connection possible I pay for a 8 meg line, but only get around 2 meg ! (Crappy BT) They are bringing out a new super fast service called "Infinity" which is some fibre optics super fast broadband... but it's being rolled out so slow in the UK

Trust me if I could get a faster connection then I most definetly would...

Also do people really download 20 gigs when they buy packages ? I just find that hard to believe ???

Huh ? Not really sure what you mean... Why would I put the content on a Blue Ray Disk ? Especially if they are $150-$200 ??? A Blue Ray Disk is $150-$200 ??? Totally lost me with this one... definetly cheaper to send on DVD's

So to recap lol... I dont have a problem with sending it on DVD's or even Hard Drives, but I am exploring how and the best way to have the content downloadable... but I guess 20 gig is 20 gig which ever way you cut it !

Or you could go for divShare, which is relatively inexpensive ($19.99year) and allows you to have up to 25GB to host your files. The service is also very easy to use and allows you to password-protect your shared files.

Now for this information i now require you to send me your hottest asian scene with matching photosets and 2257 complete.

just ftp is fine for 20gb these days most people have a fast connection

Sorry, was just back in the house after Happy Hour when I wrote that. A Blu-Ray burner is $150-200, and 25 disks sell for $70 approx. in the discount stores here.

Blue ray recording drives run about 100. ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-252-_-Product )the actual media/discs themselves are $1.50-$3.00 a piece ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-070-_-Product ) hold 25GB a piece, or 50GB if you buy the dual layer recorder/discs.

Only problem might be that buyers may not have blue ray disc readers in their PCs.

I usually Fedex clients photos & documents on a DVD-R and video on a Blu-Ray. A domestic Fedex express (3-Day) costs about $14 to ship and a Blu-Ray disk about $1.00-$1.25 on a 30 disk or 50 disk spindle at NewEgg.com. If it's just a small order for some Ex-GF content I zip up a password protected zip file and FTP also works.

I am thinking people are not understanding my issue lol...

Each girl is around 20 gig, so by that reckoning I would need 1 account for each girl... I guess at 20 bucks that wouldnt be too much of a issue... however it would still take me a week to upload each girl with my current internet connection... and as I have 15 girls to go live straight off the bat thats 4 months lol... so I am guessing a downloadable version of this content is just not possible !
