    Problem with Verotel Join pages?

Ok I am not sure what is up but on all of our machines and everyone we have spoken to who is running IE7 they get an Active X install attempt on any Verotel pro join page.

Can someone try this and then click on the left side cc option. Do you get an active x install attempt?

We see it on all of our machines which are running Vista Home Premium. One of them is a new laptop that hadn't been booted previously. We looked at in on a Mac and saw the Windows Media Player code.

Jace saw it too...So we know it is really happening. It can't be helping sales to have a media player popup on the join page.

confirmed on our join pages too, along w/ three other sites who use Verotel Pro... the hidden code is as follows:

        <OBJECT classid="clsid:22D6F312-B0F6-11D0-94AB-0080C74C7E95" ID="WMP" WIDTH="1" HEIGHT="1"></OBJECT>

set to pop media player on IE7, and the code is visible in source on every join page.

what the fuck verotel, a response on this would be nice... you throwing pops at my would-be customers was *not* in the contract..!

...promise her a defamation, tell her where the rain will fall..

          Problem Resolved

The problem in question was not related to pop-ups but instead had to do with a legacy implementation of reading the WMP ID related to an old fraud screening technique which we no longer use.

The problem evidently appeared with IE7 in relation to new object recognition technology in IE7 and/or Vista.

At any rate, the problem has been resolved and removed from our order pages.

          Our apologies.

It seems it was a Vista thing. Those with IE7 on XP did not see it.

            Thank you Microsoft.
