I was spanked, don't really like it as a main method of disciplining kids but I'm not opposed to it completely. I think some parents get lazy and stop trying to teach their kids how to behave and don't figure out alternative punishments that will leave a lasting effect because spanking is easier.

Then again, this is all theory so far. I'll get back to you in about a year or so. I guess that's when mine will stop being a cute babble of drool and become a walking, talking babble of drool.
