I'm very close to a doctor, who has told me all kinds of stories about failed suicides(he's a maxiofacial reconstructor), and has seen many injuries like this.

He says shotgun suicide is tricky, because a when you put your chin over a shotgun barrel(with stock butt on the floor), depending on barrel length, you have to reach down for the trigger. When reaching down too far, the head bends back to keep the chin touching the barrel. The blast goes through the lower face and misses the the target -- the brain. Apparently, you don't need all that shit below your brain to function. Your face, I mean.

This is exactly what happened to a guy I used to work with. Everything from the eyebrows down, fucking GONE. Last I heard he was going to be propped up in a nursing home for the rest of his now completely fucked life.

Why did he do it? We went about 4 or 5 months working close to 18 hour days wih no days off at all, not even Sundays. Finally his wife couldn't take it anymore and she threatened to leave if he didn't quit but instead he broke down and fucking shot himself. Thing is, the pay was so good that it would be pretty much impossible for a blue collar guy to find a new job that paid anything close to what we were getting so we were all stuck. Well, except for him, he found a way out.

people get so caught up in material things, and think dying is the way out. I really don't understand the rationale. LIFE is all you really have in the world. I'd rather be poor, alone and homeless than not exist anymore.

Often with gun suicides people investigating them find bullet holes or shot marks in the roof and wall of the room that the person committed suicide in. These are known as hesitation marks, where the person couldn't quite do it the first time around. If you're half way successful you end up with a face like this guy. Better to not do it, or walk in front of a fast moving train instead. Many gun suicides fail with horrible consequences.

If people blow their face off because they had a bad angle trying to off themselves, they're not really supporting my belief about intelligent people killing themselves. I guess a lot of people do it because they're just god damned dumb and weak.

I don't think a train would be the best way. You're better off finding a fast moving truck. Much more likely to go clean for you. The train probably won't be going 70mph.

If I were going to do it, I'd drive 130mph into a thick wall and .454 my brain right before impact. If I were going to do it, it would not be an attempt. I think a lot of people "attempt" suicide never even meaning to actually DO it any way.

Cock suckers who kill themselves even though it is going to crush people they care about should burn a long burn in a hell somewhere. I for one could never do that to my sister and grandmother. That is why I'm alive. I've never been a suicidal or depressed person - but I don't like being alive.
