That's true - hopefully an BTC>AUD solution is on the way.
From what I understand, it's not that difficult to go from BTC>USD however?
In any case, the BTC/USD will have to prove itself stable over time before mass-adoption.
Wikileaks accepting Bitcoin donations will be another catalyst for testing the stability of the currency, as is the existence of places like Silk Road.
