so, i've never gotten flowers for a woman, but since i am one, i have received flowers. and the most that i have ever received, was once on my three month anniversary with a guy, he got me three dozen roses. it was a ton. and honestly, i thought it was a bit much and sort of creepy. three YEAR anniversary? that would be great. but three dozen roses after just three MONTHS was a bit extreme. i didn't expect anything like that. fucker ended up cheating anyways, so he was probably just over-compensating for his guilt.
2 dozen is the most I've ever given, but I don't even do that anymore. I have the ability to draw and paint so I just draw or paint a girl a bouquet of flowers because real flowers die, but just like my love... the drawing or painting can last forever.

Ouch ! Which proves flowers don't mean shit anyway. I never buy them...

I always thought that the amount of flowers wasn't really that important, getting the right color and type was always a bigger deal. I usually went with a dozen or half dozen, but I've still hit jackpots with a single flower. Just how you give it to her.

that sounds like a corny line straight out of a soap opera
one afternoon many years ago while drunk
I was driving along this gravel road outside the city and saw a field with a mass of wild roses growing along it.
I just had to stop and pick a feww
ended up bringing home to the wife, (at the time), close to 150 roses.
was a wild night
my buddies got me drunk after my divorce in 91, then took me down to try out for the love connection. Yep, she picked me! I gave her 101 long stem roses on the date, yep, got laid! That was fun!
Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
think about that
interesting, so i guess you're right, too many roses can be perceived as strange and creepy?
it all depends on the girl and the timing, and your relationship with her. my relationship with the guy that i mentioned, was more on the "fun" side, and we weren't crazy-serious after the three months together that he bought them for me. it didn't make me feel much differently about him, i stayed with him for a total of two years. maybe i shouldn't have used the word "creepy," but it did make me feel a bit uncomfortable because a) it was only after three months together and i didn't realize we were "celebrating" our three month anniversary, so i had nothing for him, and b) i would much rather he saved his money, flowers can get really expensive, especially since we were much younger at the time and money was harder to come by.

i do enjoy getting flowers every now and then, but it's not something that i expect or "crave," if that makes sense. it is sort of a waste of money, imho. that doesn't mean that i never want to get them ever again, but it's not a necessity on every birthday/anniversay/holiday/etc. it's a very nice surprise when it's unexpected and not over-the-top.

i agree with this. while red roses are classic/romantic/etc.. i enjoy other types of flowers/bouquets, maybe even more than i would the roses. i love orchids and really pretty blue and purple flowers, stuff that you don't really see that often. it could be a totally small bouquet and still be the most beautiful/appreciated. it doesn't have to be a huge crystal vase full of bright red roses. but those are nice, too, every once in a while. ;)
