I'd agree that optimizing a web page for SEO is DIY, Anyone can stuff their keywords in the title, url, alt tags, h1 tag and first paragraph.

True SEO is a full time job in and of itself.

              Hi ez12

I have knowledge in SEO and I could help you out, however most people think they can get a magic script that will fix their problems... The last person I did tuns of work for scammed me... This person like many others out there will use "black SEO" methods as to try to trick their partners and to try to gain better Search Engine results by click fraud...

Now if you can't get a good location within a search engine like Google and you get a SEO pro to do work for you then you should know the ropes fist on SEO !

If you don't know what "black SEO" is then you should Google it FIRST and then ask for the website(s) that the SEO services has done in the past and check each one out for how their keywords are being picked up by the different search engines and how their linking holds up !

When you design a website the Search Engine Optimization should be thought of and integrated together...

Proper keyword research should be done then integrated within your meta tags and your body of your index as to make your keywords relevant ...

This is a part time job altogether !!!

It's better to learn how-to then get scammed by another !!!

              Hope this helps ...

              Later,
              sig too big

because an SEO is not a Godlike being who can descend upon all niches with a multitude of products perfect for the userbase...

If you sell your own products - like for example the photography ezine in your sig - a smart SEO can absolutely help you out

smart seo's are expensive, id expect to pay 15 - 20% of your new sales

i'd start with seoconsultants.com and look for seos in the language you are targeting, if someone is too expensive dont be afraid to ask for a referral (a lot of them may refer you to companies that do SEO for adult sites), SEO business is built on referrals and favors, i can give you some good referrals if you contact me..

cheap SEOs arent worth it, they waste your time to pad their bill

If you don't have the budget just buy IBP 9 and work it out for yourself

Dude. SEO is so tricky. Best way to think of it is this: Google sticks a thermometer up your site's ass and check its temperature. Everything. Everyfuckingthing on the site is checked by Google. How old your site is. How long it's been at its current IP address. How long your domain is paid for (did you buy it for a year, five years, 10 years?) Every fucking name of every fucking picture. Every title tag. Every ALT tag. Every word on every page. The color of fonts. The background color of those fonts.

How are your pages laid out? If you lay it out like a well-done magazine with headline, bullets, bold, and everything is easy to read -- Google likes that. How about your headings: Are the fonts big? How's your navigation? Do you have site map that lists every page on your site? When people link to you, what words do they use? Does the link text (aka anchor text) relate to the content of your site (very good) or something general (not so good).

Your title tag at the top of every page: If you can get people to link to you with text that is the same as a title tag on a page and then you have pictures and headings with the same text as your title tag -- Google can be more sure you actually have the content it is looking for. Feed the Google beast. Give it content.

Best thing you can do is read all you can about SEO, do what you think is best, and then watch your stats closely. What search words are turning up? What pages are getting the most visits? Install the Google toolbar. Type in search terms. See where you come up on the list.

Yeah, yeah, I know, we're all full of shit. But do type "anal" "girl girl" "lesbian anal" "anal lesbians" "nadia hilton" "isis love" "strapon anal" "extreme anal" and see what site comes up on that first page.

                    Good luck.

                        Avoid automated tools like WPG.

As Kesey says it's a minefield, do the wrong thing or fail to ringfence your spam network and you can lose everything. Having done whitehat seo on important websites like Banks you need to be uber careful. Get it wrong and you be in the poo.

If you want cutting edge spam tactics, do the good old "buy viagra".

                        Which site in your profile?

SEO works for ALL sites. The idea is your making your page more like the search querry. The search engines product is good, accurate results. The ranking structure is designed to EXCLUDE bogus sites/pages - thats all. Your page has to actually be what is says it is about. Thats the purpose of the complicated system - to keep the cheats out.

Just do some research, surf some SEO boards and you'll find enough info thats easy to understand to get started. But as it was stated above by"gwkg" SEO is a MORE than a full time job in and of itself. So, if you have other things to do that make you money - pay someone to do this for you. You may have to try a number of people and sites at the same time to get it right... thats just the nature of this stuff.
Was a graphics master for Lensman @ Adult.com but now... I can't tell ya cause it aint top secret.

that's partly why blogs have gotten so popular. tons of text content but now google has gone universal so optimizing for media will start to get really big/bigger.

WAAAAYYYY too many people abuse automated tools. That's not the answer. I've seen sites lose rank and get banned for "research/competitive analysis" that Google considered spamming.

It took me about 3 1/2 years to learn how to SEO and I don't have a problem getting listed within the first page normally... However the volume of traffic is not always consistent and buying traffic should not be ruled out...

I have been doing SEO since 2000, things have changed lots. Been a fun ride, especially debunking the crap that gets spouted and old websites talking about meta tags being the magic bullet.

The good thing about adult industry is the boundaries are much more pushable, people are happy to swap links etc.

Of course don't forget optimising for image search, a lot of people get some serious traffic from it.

The trick is staying ahead and having an inkling when a technique will die or get you killed.

You can do what has been said and SEO an intermediary page then flip the user onto you payment page, but be careful how you do it. JS redirects and crap cloaking can be spotted a mile off and Google can read JS, especially the obvious stuff, like the JS redirect where the code is split into 7 parts.

                                          All good fun :-)

Yep, SEO does work for adult sites. What ukgimp says about optimizing for pictures is critical. Name your pictures explicit names and make sure the picture depicts that explicit activity. People like that. So does Google, in a machine language sort of way.
