    Venture Capital

In some of my discussions lately this keeps crossing my mind.

Does anyone know of a company, or conglomerate of online businesses or webmasters that have partnered up to join forces or funds to take one bigger online projects?

I know in adult a lot of times there is little trust, and a lot of cut throat bullshit compared to the mainstream, but I think if there isn't one, it would be interesting to pursue.

Two 100k webmasters could conquer a lot more together then seperately (assuming same visions). You could buy other people's assets, domains, websites, or build a bigger network, hence making more money, and so on.

Or you would be a VC for other online companies, and ventures.

I think about this every time I have to apply for a loan, or explain to some business person what I do. Or even when I am plotting out my quarter, and objectives. How I could fast track shit much faster with partner, or VC capital.

    Thoughts?

There are some I do trust I have met in person, or dealt with regularly. But you bring up a good point, which is why a lot of banks do not believe in the 'virtual business' because you essentially have no assets.

But as many online people know, they just do not know how to deal with it. If someone had their network signed over as collateral, some of us would know how to dismantle it from sites, traffic, and domains to recoup money where a bank would not.

A pain? Yes. But it's different for those who work, and do business online, and can monetize things.

I know there are several companies that already do this. Ever wonder why some sponsors dont speak out about other sponsors? Private interests. I know of at least 3 big companies that each have a piece of each other.

Along the same lines, I was also thinking about strategic partnerships.

Where, for example, two companies collaborate where they can share model talent pools, web designers, servers, and so forth. Streamlining costs.

A lot of it was just thinking out loud, but at the same time, just like we see with VISA, merchant accounts, among other things. If you were a VC type of company who could resolve some of these things, it would give you more power to get good ideas funded, a piece of the pie, and off the ground, etc.

I've figured as much. We've seen it with the Epic rumors, among others. It makes good business sense.

Plus builds a better plan for not only funding, but longevity. I think it would be really advantagous when pooling your common adult money, knowledge, and networks to move mainstream. You would have more funding, and pieces of the puzzle to get things launched faster, and even own percentages of new start ups.

I know I personally have seen a lot of good ideas (more so mainstream) that if I had some decent money (just laying around and not tied up in development) to throw at it, I would buy a chunk of.

There are plenty of partnerships similar to what you described.

Most on the DL I would guess.

One of the main advantages I can see are people who already are, have been, or know how to manage their time, and work from a virtual office.

When I hire part timers to help me out. Most lack the disapline. Which is very annoying. However not unexpected.

People are one of two kinds of workers. They either want freedom, or security.
