    Photos, Photography or Photographs?

    For arguments sake, if you operated a business that sells photographs of animals (you do not shoot them, you just sell them), what .com domain would you prefer and/or what would sound the best or possibly the most professional to you?

    1) AnimalPhotos .com
    2) AnimalPhotography .com
    3) AnimalPhotographs .com

              I am pretty sure that all 3 of those regarding animals are already registered. I was just using animal as an example. It could be tree, dog, car, porn, or pig in place of animal for that matter. Im just interested to get some thoughts on the photo portion of the domain. Thanks for your thoughts

                  The first two are both good. Photos is shorter thus, prob better. *photography sounds very professional and would also be a good two word domain altho kind of long.

                  It's like *porn is great, *porno is also mildly good but *pornography is real bad.

                      ???-stockpics/pix or ???stockphotos

                      If you are looking to sell for commercial purposes something like that would be my choice.
                      Seems like it would work better with accompanying seo to get traffic looking to BUY pictures.

                          Captain, just so I understand correctly what you are saying...you think that;

                          Animal-StockPics.com, Animal-Stockpix.com or AnimalStockPhotos.com would be better and/or sound more professional than AnimalPhotos.com or AnimalPhotographs.com for a web site that was in business to sell animal photographs?

                              I understand you not being specific with your plans and using animals as an example so we don't know your exact intentions.

                              Stock photos is usually associated with images that can be bought and used for something else like in a magazine or for advertisement. If that's your intention, using " stock " in the name gives a clear idea as to your intention.

                              If you are selling prints suitable for framing and not to be used for commercial purpose, using " stock " would be misleading and confusing.

                              You said you were just selling pictures that you didn't create so I would be less inclined to use " photography " as this relates more to the overall process of creating the image than just possessing a picture.

                              I think shorter is better so I think animalphotos or animalpics would be better than animalphotographs or you could even use animalimages.
