2257 compliance is becoming a bigger issue with overseas producers. Case law has established that overseas producers are not immune from prosecution. In American Library Association v. Reno, the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia applied the law to overseas producers, writing: "Foreign producers who wish to peddle their products in the United States should be expected to abide by our laws no less than domestic producers."
