I use Dreamhost. The only reason I can recommend them is because they have that nifty one-click Wordpress install feature, and you can host unlimited domains.

I do notice that my sites go down for 15 or 20 minutes at a time. This is particularly frustrating because it always seems to happen when I'm working on them (editing blog templates, adding posts, and etc).

If you do decide to go with Dreamhost, I would recommend that you only view it as a shorter term solution for hosting until you can build up your traffic/revenue stream to where you can comfortably afford and would need virtual or even dedicated hosting. Outside of that, research other hosts. Good luck!

Host Gator is good, but if your site blows up and starts getting a lot of its while you're on a shared account they'd suspend you.
