Peaches you had me on a 60 second "stream" when I read your post. I know you know exactly what I'm talking about. I am getting close to talking to people again and there's sooooooooo many thanks yous and responses etc I have to do but talking to you is on top of my list because I totally need that. I'm all "vietnam" and hallucinate etc a bit but I am doing ok and working my heart and brain together for the best of everyone around me.

Too many holidays too fast too but I wanna call you this week or so. I saved your voicemail and I listen to it every now and then and am reminded how big of a heart you have... and how you're the only one I know who's been exactly where Im at. And I now recognize identically your uhm... I don't know the word exactly but maybe rage and passion and being strong beyond what you've ever been. Permanently changed for sure.

PK and Bama I would have loved it. But actually once I was there, I sat and he started drilling away and I was like "When does the hurting flinching part start. Is this as bad as it gets?" ... He said "um yeah". Ha... I felt NOTHING. No pain killers. Just some spicy teriaki chicken from down the street beforehand. It was seriously like a fucking SPA VISIT! Like a relaxing facial.

It pulled my pain into a direction that felt so much better than I feel any hour or any day for weeks. I loved it! In fact I just sat there and read a book the whole time and drank water. It was killer and relaxing. I absolutely love it and have no regrets.

I can't wait to get another. I'm gonna let my girl start helping with a design she wants for her. PK I'd love to meet your people too. Whoever is the best is great with me.

My boys both are into tattoos. Heck.. my oldest would likely have more than he does if I'd let him. I've tried to tell them both that tattoos need to mean something because they're going to be with them for life. Told them that walking in on the spur of the moment, picking something off the wall that anyone and everyone has, just isn't what it's about.

About two years ago, we were doing a massive totally cleaning and throw-away of 8 years of living in the same place. I'd rented a dumpster rather than make trips to the dump. The boys were in charge of the garage. A few days after the dumpster left, I asked them where'd they had put the big Tonka trucks in one of the garage cupboards. They kinda looked at each other and the oldest said they'd tossed them and had a good ole time smashing them up. I kinda went all sobby on them and had to explain why. I'd saved two old metal Tonka trucks.. well... a dump truck and an excavator.. from when they were small. They just don't make them like that. I wanted each of them to have one for when they had kids and had hung onto them in expectations of giving them to each son when he had a child. I guess I seemed pretty sad about it all.

About a month later, they took off one afternoon and then had me meet them at my DIL's work..

They both had gotten Tonka dump truck tattoos with MOM for the license plate. Oldest has his on his right forearm and the youngest on his chest above his heart.

Now how could I argue with them about sneaking out for those tattoos...

I think showing your tatto on a public message board is about the dumbest thing you can do...

That is awesome!!! That is a great story. It was making me crazy yesterday watching people just walk in and randomly pick some weird thing or scary face or whatever. When it's special and means something, it's a whole different story.

Oh and I take back all that not hurting part. Today it burns like hell! I guess cuz I slept on it all night.

RRRed, that is just BEAUTIFUL! If I ever decide to do it, I'll come up there and you, Bama and PK will have to go with me, hold my hand and buy me ice cream to keep my mind off the pain.

Besides my Dad's father, who was in the Navy and had a ship on his arm, John was the first person EVER in our family to have a tattoo. My mother about passed out. Me getting one would mean even more with the history of his having one. It was an AF emblem he and some buddies got the first day they were allowed offbase after their first 30 days of tech school - there were 6 or so shops right off base for that reason ;)

Again, it's absolutely gorgeous and you know I'm ready to talk when you are and I also know it might be a while until you're ready to talk. I've been around enough people who've been through this (and the number is staggering) to know that NO ONE reacts the same way and NO WAY is wrong in how they react. Period.
