    ICQ, Skype and my Android... all messed up at the same time

    There is a dark cloud over me at the moment. None of my communication tools are working.

    Someone put a GFY jinx on me?

      Well for the Skype, try this:

      Type %appdata%\skype in the windows start menu's search box and press enter to get to the Skype User folder. I deleted the shared.xml and the shared.lck. Restarted Skype and works for me again.

      Apparently something crashed recently.

                          Oh shit, go to the Vet. I found a fuck up in Skypes system when always signing and logging in from an Android. Word of advise, don't sign up for a Skype account using an Email that has another Skype account on Android. It will send you the password reset for the account you don't want to reset the password on. So when you forgot your password or you were hacked (i was hacked by a fucking chatter) your fucked forever. Or tell they get their shit together. Androids also have the surf protection shit that will remove download files from folders that they think is a thread. And those files are needed to run the software. I just tried to find a link but i couldn't find one for you. It explained how and why. Sorry about that.

                                  OMG. I've spent 1½ hours trying to fix my skype that crashed yesterday and just wouldn't start again. Then I go here and see this thread.

                                      Skype was recently bought by Microsoft. That's the reason it is crashing now Spent some time fixing mine as well.

                                              I meant... on my PC, ICQ and Skype are down.

                                              And my droid will not connect to the net no matter what.

                                              Happened within 10 mins of each other.

                                                          on my galaxy spica (kinda backwards in nowadays' standard) i use ICQ from meebo, doesn't collide with Skype. It used to but then i got the system refreshed, works perfectly since then.

                                                              Haha you're welcome! I spent that long too but I was so pissed all I did was yell at the computer. When I finally calmed down it took me 10 minutes to find a fix. Funny this was happening to tons of people but not that much online about it.
