No he's saying he watched This Week on the BBC and Tariq Ali stated that.......only he didn't. Tariq Ali said there were "exactly the same number of African Americans in prison today as there were black slaves in 1850"
He said "EXACTLY THE SAME" not more and "AFRICAN AMERICANS" not black. So not only do you not have an original thought in your brain you can't even quote correctly.
Anyway it's a pointless and ridiculous quote, only relevant if you assume that all African Americans are in prison because they are black !!Comment

DVtimes, interesting wasn't it that Tariq Ali stressed that he would judge US presidents on their performance and not the colour of their skin..... then went onto make some meaningless comparison about the number of black slaves in 1850 versus the number of African Americans in prison in 2011 and use that race based comparison as a weapon to do down Obama. LOL oh yeah that metric we all follow, inflation, stock prices, wage increases, oil price, gold price and the number of black slaves in 1850 !!! Your opinion ?Comment
