        You do not waive your rights when you allegedly commit a crime, innocent until proven guilty. If you ever watch cops you'll notice a lot of the people they arrest have their face blurred. Its possible Dateline gets around a release form because the person is on private property.

        As far as this prosecuter that commited suicide, he didnt even go to meet the decoy, it was all from chat. The cops showed up at his door with a Dateline crew and thats when he did it.

            I am fairly sure that committing a crime isn't enough reason to waive your right to a fair trial to determine whether you were guilty of a crime in the first place. It amazes me that Americans allow a TV show, of all things, to take the place that should belong to a judge and jury.

            (because, let's face it, being exposed as a pedophile on television in today's climate is a far worse punishment than most courts could ever dish out - possibly including the death penalty)
