Any photographers out there?

Hi everyone!
I have created a nice website which allows you to upload all your photos in one place. Address is:
http://www.myshots.com

It gives you the possibility to comment on other peoples pictures, rate them, make new friends and chat with them.
The best thing is, every photographers has his own subdomain, your portfolio so to say. So if you sign up with say username: Michael, then your portolio will be
michael.myshots.com

I would love to see lots of pictures of you photographers there.

btw. Im not making any money of this, I invisted quite some time and money to make this website possible.

It has been created for passionate photographers like you and me and I want to encourage you to use the platform of myshots to gain (additional) exposure.
It is free and it will stay free!

I would love to hear some feedback on my shots and your thoughts about that project in general.

btw. nothing of what you post nor your personal data will be sold, or used in any other commercial way.

I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!

thanks and nope it is totally custom made. There is no commercial aspect of this website. Unless the hosting fees will be unbareable, I will keep it ad free too.

well not quite, coz every photographer sets the rights of his artwork for himself...of course on a give and take basis. Meaning that private use and downloading is possible. You can set up the rules from all rights reserver to some rights reserved.

I use Onemodelplace, Model mayhem .. and some others .. I have on occasion joined hosted sites like yours (Imodel, premiermodel...etc) The problem I have with these smaller sites is that I don't feel my pictures/copyrights are safe there.

Onemodelplace is the only site that has "no right clicks" Which makes me feel some waht safer ... What are the options that you offer, and how are you plannin on promoting this site .. do you allow Hard core nudity .. if so .. how are you planning on protecting yourself (title 18), your site and the photographers listed on it

Yes, they are free as long as you stick to the rules in the Image license Agreement. Also, in some cases you may need to notify the photographers about using the photos and sometimes you need to credit them. You can find any further restrictions by the photographer in his description or in his comments to the related picture.

8. Can I use these photos for every purpose?

You can use the photos for a lot of things. There are some restrictions though. Please check the corresponding part of the Image license Agreement.

15. Can I sell my photos on MYSHOTS?

No, it is not allowed to sell pictures on MYSHOTS, check our Terms of Use for details. This is a free stock photography community and it is part of its spirit to be free.

I seriously don't think Adult is the market/Photographers you want on your site. Your looking for amature Photographers . or Just plan photo hobbists. As a Pro, Your site puts up tons of red flags

I'll be honest here, to me it seems a bit risky uploading photos that I only want to display when the site says it is a free stock photo site. There is potential for confusion and a "but everything else was free!" defence if one of my pics ends up on 500,000 coffee mugs.

You are totally right, sorry that I forgot to mention that.
This site is a totally SFW project. No nudity whatsoever. It calls out to all hobby and (semi-)professional photographers around the globe to come and share their photos.

its a great idea but I don't really like how you posted this as if you are giving us a free folio, but you are marketing it as free stock photos for people to steal ... us amateurs don't mind that so much so we do tend to be more loose with our photos, but your initial post was a bit misleading.

there's a site called bigstockphoto.com which aims at a similar audience but they pay you $1 or 50c for any shots sold ... my suggestion would be to remove all mention of 'stock photos' from your site & really push the hobby angle.

Its almost like a myspace for photographers ... that's much more valuable of an angle than the stock photo angle I think.

I love the site. I really hope you make something of it! Good luck!

thanks cj_purve and the rest of you guys, I really appreciate the positive feedback!
And yes I will probaby remove the stock photo term completely, as it is a bit misleading.
I also think about implementing a possibility to make some nice money of your photos, but different than you think, I will keep you updated
