Bumble Bee was a Camaro because VW wouldn't give rights.
That's a pretty dumb ass decision by VW.. If the movie ends up being a hit and people like the character of bumble bee.. It would do nothing but increase care sales.
That's like major free advertising right there.
In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.
maybe not cause micheal bay didn't wanted bumblee to be a beetle, cause earlier scenes with the radios playing, and the doors opening by itself, would of been almost Herbie The Love Bug like. cause those are the things that Herbie does.
believe me, transformers is still the best movie against pirates, spiderman and fantastic four. seen it 3 times already, the movie was freaking awesome. all the moviegoers clapped at the end of the film. it owned all the summer movies that came out this year. watch it. lots of funny moments.
Damn man! what an indepth review hhahahaha, you freak!!! Well, good info there man, I for sure am not rushing to see the movie

I won't give any spoilers, just a brief points and grade.
Positives:
- I give them credit for trying to pull off making the movie to begin with
- It was a great way to relive my childhood
- There is ALOT of eye candy.. and especially good CGI action
Negatives:
- The movie was caught between trying to cater to both adults and kids. They should of picked one of the other
- The plot was rehashed a bit too much during the movie
- They made Bumble Bee a Camero instead of a VW Bug
- Some of the dialog between the actors was rushed and not mixed well at all
- Running time was too long to tell the story (144 minutes)
At one point I was trying convince myself to like movie for more than it was. Not the best sign of a high caliber film. I know a movie about cars that turn into robots is corny by definition, just felt it could of been done better.
Overall Grade: C+
If you think tough men are dangerous, wait until you see what weak men are capable of.

Any auto manufacturer who refused rights to this movie is a complete idiot. The brand recognition for the toys will follow the viewers as they grow up. I wanted a Red Truck for eons, and I first learned my brands by the autobot cars!

Great assessment. I just saw it and agree with all of your points. I give it the same grade C+.
Bumble Bee was a Camaro because VW wouldn't give rights.
I haven't heard that, but I assume the real reason is GMC must have paid well given the slew of GMC vehicles and the fact they're advertising their cars using transformers photos.
They did have a yellow VW Bug next to Bumble Bee at the beginning, which he effectively shunned.
Did the robots talk in the movie, or were they silent? For some reason I would find it hard to watch if they talked, unless they used the original voices from the cartoon.
Seen it yesterday and it blew me away. fuckin awesome! Big up for Bay and Spielberg!
And yes there were some lesser parts sure, but the movie is a visual rollercoaster spactacle like I've never seen before, and that makes up for those little mistakes BIGTIME!

"Transformers, roll out!"
This guy had the best cartoon voice ever.
Yea they do talk,
They used Peter Cullen (the OG optimus prime voice from the 80's)
But other than that all new voices, but they still did an awesome job.
I Loved this movie by the way, lived up to all my expectations. Some people are just harsh critics I think. Dissecting a movie that has TRANSFORMERS from another planet in it seems kind of silly IMO. Just have fun watching it :D
I'm glad to see they stayed true to the characters personalities, aside from bumblebee not being a bug (I think that if he was his character could have NEVER been as cool as it was) It was pretty accurate.
