The point of "mixing the issues" isn't to say one group had it worse, it's to say stupidity and bigotry played a role back then and plays a role today.
Would it make you feel better if I compared it to the gays sent to concentration camps in Nazi Germany, gays who had it 1000x worse than black America in the 60's? Personally I think it's irrelevant, but whatever makes you happy
