Give me a female doctor and a gay male nurse any day of the week...

    and I'm a happy patient.

Now this has been my experience...99.9% of the time.

Male doctors don't show much empathy, they expect you to "man up" and take the pain. Every male doctor I have ever *with the exception of two hispanic doctors* never spent more than 5 minutes with me in the room.

Female nurses have attitudes period, unless they are dealing with children. I have had a few rare exceptions, but in 90%+ cases, they have been super bitches.

Now..every female doctor I have ever had has treated me like a loving mother.
In fact one time in the emergency room, back before I learned what I was suffering from was panic attacks...one female doctor actually sat next to my bedside doing her notes in order to make me feel more comfortable.

Hell I didn't even know about it until later, when my family told me that's what she had been doing..I was in and out from some heavy sedatives.

Gay male nurses are the shit...every single one I have ever had has been a pleasure. They keep the mood light, and they too treat you like a loving mother.

I'll agree that most older male doctors and older female nurses can be rather heartless. Then again, they have seen much more carnage and death than their younger counterparts and have thus become somewhat desensitized.

Anyhell, the best doctor I've had was a 40ish male, best nurse a female in her late twenties / early 30s.

I'm of the opinion that doctors have to separate them themselves like that in order to keep objectivity. I've seen a doctor or two and the only thing I care about is that he remembers a little about my history and he makes me better.

No hard feelings but that doctor was slacking in the emergency room if you were just suffering from a panic attack. Hell, emergency rooms are just what the name implies. You had a panic attack and you don't even remember it.

Who knows maybe a kid died at the same time you 'got' some motherly love from a doctor who could have used her time more resourceful. Bottom line a panic attack is a panic attack and the emgergency personal should have just checked your vitals and if okay (or in your case see a shrink) and clear up the room for next emergency!

I really don't care if the doctor acts like mother or gay. I just want to be treated professionally and get the best medical attention possible.

BTW, nothing is wrong with having a panic attack (most people experience them at one time or another including me) but for you to make this silly assumption about doctor's genders and sexual perferences is just silly

#1 I didn't learn that it was a panic attack until later...I went through almost a year of emergency room and doctor visits before I was diagnosed...this was after they kept seeing "something," wrong with me, but they didn't know what...which didn't help with the panic attacks, only made them worse.

              #2 I didn't make any assumptions...I expressed my experiences.

No, that's not true. Doctor's don't have to separate themselves like that..surgeons yes...they cut people open, and they lose people on the table. Part of the healing experience that a doctor should provide involves care, consideration etc.

Also, far too many things go wrong now days between tired doctors, cheap thieving insurance companies, that when I sit down with a doctor, I want to be 100% sure that we have both communicated what we need to, and that we both understand each other.

A doctor who walks in, looks over my chart for 30 seconds, then diagnoses me does not have my trust and faith...and for good reason.

My current doctor is male, but he's hispanic, and I've had 3 hispanic doctors in my 40 years...and all 3 have proven themselves to go beyond the call of duty.

One doctor in fact, spent way too much time...I was in his office talking to him for almost an hour...LOL...but we did a bunch of comprehensive physical exams.

Sorry I forgot that you were (are) fat and, of course all medical complications will occur including whatever the minor stuff is.

Once again I do not need a 'mother' being a doctor. But you, Sir, seems like you need one
