    Valium VS Xanax?

    Never tried xanax before but I have 2 bars here... I think thats 2mg each? I'll do some further research before I take them.. I'm just assuming its 2mg right now.

    I've done valium before, usually takes about 20mg to get me nice and pleasant...

    Are the two comparable? Should I split this in half or just go balls out and do the whole thing?

                          Ambien CR is nice. I've been off of it for 4 days though, even though its prescribed to me. Decided I didnt want to take a chance with building up a dependence for it. I can sleep for about 6 or 7 hours now without it after taking it for 6 weeks, was only able to sleep about 4 hours before.

                                                  of course now valium & xanax are used as alcohol for the suburbanites who refuse to admit they have a drinking or marriage problem

                                                          xanax is a much stronger, faster acting (but shorter life-span) drug

                                                          2mg of xanax & a glass of wine, you probably won't remember what you did exactly the next day, not that you get out of hand like a drunk, you just suffer memory loss the next day of a perfectly uneventful evening

                                                          valium, you gain a tolerance to quickly & it may act like xanax for a few weeks

                                                          my TIP to you

                                                          stay away from both...have a nice couple glasses of scotch & smoke a cigar in the hot tub if your having anxiety issues

                                                          otherwise a year goes by & you remember about 10 minutes of it later on in life.......chuuuuch

                                                                                      Klonopin has both of them owned. 12 hour active life-span & doesn't taste like ass if you drop it under your tongue (since its made for seizures)

                                                                                      Oh & its addictive qualities are about 1/10th that of xanax & valium.

                                                                                      My advice, stay away from them all!!!! Have a drink once in awhile

                                                                                                              Klonopin is a seizure medication. It does have a longer active life span, but I found it to make me really tired. Much more tired then on Xanax. Not sure if the dose was to high or if seizure medications just make you more tired.

                                                                                                                  If you're not taking it alot take xanax, .5-1.0mg is good shit, it will knock you on your ass.. It is not an anti depressant like some people have said in this thread, it is an anti anxiety treatment..

                                                                                                                  Another good one is Ativan. AKA Lorazepam as generic it's also in the family of anti-anxiety treatments, it has far less addictive properties as xanax, but packs a little less punch..

                                                                                                                  I only take xanax when I'm at the shows usually since I need to get some sleep. I was taking ativan twice daily when dealing with the drama of the last 6 months which you know all about. Which left me nice and comfortably numb.. I did not have any problems coming off of it.

                                                                                                                  So there you have it..

Xanax is faster acting than Valium and Valium stays in your system longer. 30 mg of Valium and I could still feel the effects 2 days later.

                                                                                                                      .5 mg of Xanax is close to 10 mg of Valium (unless its that cheap horseshit from India).

                                                                                                                      The problem with these drugs is they are highly addictive and the withdrawals are terrible. To abruptly stop Valium after an extended period of use is extremely dangerous and can cause seizures and sometimes death.

                                                                                                                                      Only thing I found that works consistently for me for sleep is a combination of nortriptyline and halcion. My sleep cycle got totally screwed up after surgery last September and the subsequent pain meds.

                                                                                                                                      Valium just makes me not give a dang and xanax just makes me loopy but not sleep.

I have panic attacks and off medication it is not a pretty sight. So I am only on Xanax now. Before they had me on Paxil, Zoloft, Prozac, etc. Xanax is better then the other options. They have horrible side effects.
