I think the difference is that when he did the comedy central roast he agreed to be roasted and knew it was all in good fun and normally the roasters have respect for the roasted. Here I think Trump might expect one or two little shots taken at him, but not a full on assault.
Still, if you are going to get in the ring, you better be ready get hit.
