a friend of mine bought one and said he never uses it because he keeps misplacing the glasses.
i wont buy one because my receiver, which I just bought not to long ago, does not support HDMI 1.4 (1.4 = 3D). I could bypass the receiver and run fiberoptic to the receiver and the HDMI straight to the TV, but not worth it until they become glass-lessEmail: Clicky on MeComment

I had to pay 85 dollars for the glasses
I bought one, used it for a month, and returned. Not enough content for me and it ultimately started hurting my eyes.

I was buying a full new surround sound, receiver and TV for my basement so was very close to getting one. In the end I couldn't justify the cost, so picked up a Bose surround sound with Yamaha receiver and 60inch Plasma. Looks pretty sick. Really glad I didn't spring the extra 1500 bucks for the 3D TV, not to mention it would only have been 55inch.Comment

I specifically bought a tv that wasn't 3D, even though the prices were similar. I just don't care for 3D. I posted in another thread about this too, at about the 20 minute mark of the last 3D movie I saw (Avatar) I took the glasses off to watch the regular version. I gave up shopping for 3D TV's. All the ones I was shown sucked with a blurry image, low refresh rate, too dim, or all of the above, and I'm talking on the best most expensive setups too.
When I watch a movie, I want to be "lost" in the movie - I don't want to be reminded that I'm watching a shitty image with headache inducing flicker.
In my opinion the technology is too new. I'd wait at least another 2 years before picking up a 3D setup.Comment

Not yet, but some of my friends already have it.
I think more will buy it when prices will go a bit lower. That is like with everything new when it hits a market, first only rich can afford it when prices go lower more and more people buy it.
