I used to practice like mad, 5-8 times a week. I have broken par but hit in the steady low 80's. Last time I played was several months between, and I 4 over par. I have played since I was 8.
I can drive 300+ but hit 275 pretty steady. I once fought a mad slice but over the last 3 years I learned to control my drives.
I love golf, a lot.. If I can't play all the time, I quit until I can. Otherwise it pulls me in.

I am working on getting my handicap to go up this summer by fucking around on GFY when I should be playing golf (it used to be a 6 ;) This way I may have a shot at winning my own tournament in Curaco.
I hope all the super low handicappers bring their game. I LOVE to get shots instead of give em.

thats really cool, but this thread is not about that, its about who comes and plays in our events, who comes out consistently and wins, and hangs out, and does all that dumb shit. Trust me, you come out and show how you can play, we would be happy to resoect your abilities, but until then, its all smoke and mirrors. I can't say you are or arent a great golfer, but come join us and then we will all know. same goes for the other people none of us have seen. In vegas we are having a get together, come on out, in miami we will all be playing, here in LA you could get a game every day. So AS king shit organizer of many of the events, present co holder of the double d cup, I invite you to join us. That way WE can give you the props you deserve, until then, who knows I may not be the best scoring player but more than a few people in this thread have seen me hit 350-360 plus. shit i did it yesterday, oin a 440 yard hole, of course I got a 6 on the hole, lol, but thats me, mitch hit his 310 plus on the same hole. so all you guys we have no idea who the fuck you are, come on out, play with us, have a beer, a cigar or whatever you need to make it through the 18, we do a lot of business on the golf course too.

Don't you become a PGA member when you pass the golf instructor classes? I think you have to shoot two 78's.. Not hard to become a PGA member, and have the title pro attached to it.
Real pros to me are the guys in the top 20 of each tour, from around the world, and hold that position for many years, that's a real pro. The rest are just playing catch up.

In the US it's a lot easier to get your PGA card, not as easy as you suggest but it's still relatively simple. Here in Australia we have the most comprehensive process to become a PGA member.
Firstly you have to do a three year traineeship at a golf course. To start the three year course you have to be playing off an official handicap of two or better.
During the three year course a trainee has to play 36 holes each monday, and if our average score for first year is more than 5.75 over par then you have to repeat the year.
If our average score for the second year is more than 5 over par then you repeat the year.
And if our average score is more than 4.75 over par you have to repeat. (doesn't sound that hard, but week in week out all sorts of weather, it's not that easy)
We also have to pass exams each year on body science, golf instruction (theory and practical) golf club construction, rules and ethics etc. and if you fail any one exam you have to repeat the year.
We also have to complete a home correspondance business management course.
Due to our system anyone who does succesfully become a PGA member is pretty much guaranteed of having a thriving career as either a player, golf instructor (which is what I do) or running a golf course as a director of golf.
I completed my traineeship, 20 years ago and have been a successful head teaching professional at one of our golf courses here, www.golfinstructiononline.net so while I don't play on any tours anymore I am proud to be a member of the most difficult to complete PGA system in the world.
Greg Norman, Ian Baker Finch, Wayne Grady, David Graham (all major winners) etc etc all had to do this traineeship to become a professional.
You can also, just get a playing card wich means playing in a tournament where 300 amateurs playing off a 1 handidcap or better play for around 30 spots on the PGA tour for 1 year. I'd like to state for the record that I beat Dan from Camz, Mitch, Eric, Mike Hawk and everyone else who played in Vegas. Ok so I only shot an 84 but it was a tough course, and it was 49 degrees on the course.
We had a great time...
some of us bought soaker hats, they were supposed to keep you dry for 2 hours. Mine was dry in 15 minutes...
I drank 11 litres of water. Admittedly some of that was partway due to the vodka redbull indulgence of the previous evening's festivities watching Metal Skool and Dick Delicious.Comment
