I have the following for my macbook pro and also bought an adapter from evdoforums.com that converts it into a pcmcia card that I can then use in my other 2 laptops. Works great. You need to have a PC with an express port to set it up in the begining. I when over to Bestbuy and used one of theirs.

If you have sprint phone service you can use your phone to sign onto the network too and get a usb cable and use it with your laptop. I usualy get 30kb/sec on downloads. I would assume the data card signs you into the same network.
Ive been using it for about 3 years, no problems at all. Great service even in smaller cities. Always have service going down the interstate when traveling.

I just shopped around. I was looking for international. I talked to all the big carriers and they all told me that aside from the US I would be screwed. I went with Verizon (usb air card) which worked well when I was in Perto Rico, but more of a dial up speed. Here in the states it seems to have a slow dsl type speed, but very reliable. My experience with Verizon has been great so far. I can say that T-Mobile and Sprint employees told me to try verizon or cingular if I wanted great coverage/service...... take that fwiw. I did....... I like the service so far. Good luck.
