    Going to Vancouver Aug 9 - 12, whats there to do?

    airline tickets purchased, no hotel yet...

    whats a nice hotel close to the action?

    where can i get some good food? i love hole in the wall joints w/ excellent food

    where are the best nightlife spots, you know drunk & hot chicks, etc, etc

    gimmie some ideas!

      Sheraton Wall Centre is a good one, Weston Grand, Pacific Pallisades, all good. Most of the good action is near the Granville area, but nothing downtown is very far.

              Been there a couple of times and the Ritzy nightclub was always a good night but just can never remember leaving..

              Last time i was in there i met Chad Kroeger from Nickleback so can't be all that bad a place..

              There are some nice restaurants etc down on the waterfront.. Just useless at remembering the street names etc..

                  Oh there's SO much good food! What kind do you like? Pick up a free mag called the Georgia Straight when you get to town. It'll have all the current festivals, shows, gigs, and whatnot in there.

                                  pretty much anywhere downtown is great! Hit up the amsterdam cafe and get stoned as fuck.


                                  Recommended eating, subeez on homer, sip on granville, shabusan on burrard.

                                  Place for chicks....they are EVERYWHERE. Tons of hotties but a lot of them are ice cold. Enjoy the trip buddy

                                      this isnt' "ritzy", but you should look into trying to rent one of the rooms in the hostels along granville street. I know they give a fair price for a room, it'll feel more 'homey', and you'll get a chance to meet other travellers. Plus, it's literally right in the middle of the entertainment district

                                                          you're here in time for the abbotsford airshow.. not sure if that is your cup of tea. You just missed the fireworks.. but there is a ton of stuff going on.

                                                          A couple of places to eat:
                                                          Stephos on Davie, greek food there is always a line up out the door no reservations unless you have 6 or more
                                                          Antons on Hastings, same situation as above but italian food
                                                          The observatory on groue mountain, a higher end place I was just there last weekend. You ride a gondola up to the top of the mountain and you can enjoy dinner over the best view in the city.

                                                              sandbar is good too

                                                                      had a blast, what a nice city...

                                                                      everyone was very friendly, got a few sarcastic anti-ammerican tid-bits here n there but no biggie

                                                                      got stoned at the amsterdam cafe which was pretty cool, i dunno why everyone hypes up BC bud so much... the shit i bought was ok but not that great

                                                                      anyway, overall i would definitely go back
