Look, this is getting old...it's not as entertaining as it once was...repeating myself isn't fun. I have already said this but again here we go...I cannot remember hearing shit about the Canandian Military in my lifetime...I don't speak for all Americans...obviously(or maybe it's not so obvious).
Not sure how a Canadian would know so much about the US school system but...why wouldn't we focus on the US history most? It's not like no other countries are mentioned in History classes throughout the countries schools, but I imagine as with any country there is a focus on one's own country before learning every last detail about another country's history. Does that make sense? Not sure if I'm speaking Canadian clearly or not so I'll through in some eh's here and there, eh?

You admitted to not knowing anything about Canadian history, yet you continue to argue that we do not have a presence, etc. I don't think anyone is surprised by your lack of knowledge because anyone outside of the US knows that the education system teaches you only about your own country. These days they probably tell the kids that you won the Vietnam war.
The bottom line is that you should not speak about that which you do not know. Maybe put the internet to good use and learn something, or better yet...read a book. It is obvious that you have a very narrow world view.
To answer your question, in Canada yes we learn about Canadian history first as a means to understand where we came from and what we represent, as well as to understand the electoral system. After that we learn about European history (read from before WW I to after the fall of the Black Curtain) and also Ancient civilizations (read Romans, Egyptians, Greeks, etc) to understand where everything originated (read politics, philosophy, etc.). Obviously, our spere of influence covers a greater scope than does yours.
Regardless, you need to understand that talking out your ass is not going to get you very far in an argument here. Learn what you are talking about and then maybe someone will talk to you with out speculating about your age. At 28, I would expect you to know a little bit more about the world than you seem to display. I guess that's what happens when CNN is your major source of news and your history teacher in one.

You're right it might not be the right thing to do (arguing about the Canadian Military presence when I don't really know a whole lot about it) but the reason I did it is because you Canadians couldn't let shit go, you kept attacking even after I apologized for making that comment in bad taste. When I am attacked, I don't just sit there and take it...I attack.
This all started because of a light-hearted joke on my part and yes it was done in bad taste. I've already apologized for that...I'm not going to apologize for attempting to defend myself when attacked.
Saying that our school system only teaches us about our history is asinine...we learn World History, not just US History. I don't think it's fair to compare to education systems one of which you have never been through. I don't try to pretend I know what Canada teaches its history students.

I spent 3 of my 10 years in the Military posted in the US. So I've got a bit of insight on both sides. My son went to school there. This was in Washington State where I literally met people who couldn't tell you which way Canada was.
I was amazed at how the texts and lessons left out incredibly relevant history and geography info just because an American wasn't involved. Sure focus on your own country, that makes sense, but even in Europe they learn a more world centric curriculum than in Washington State at least.
And the bottom line is you were a dick about our soldiers in this thread, I have friends in Iraq and Afghanistan, and I wouldn't put up with someone talking the same shit about US soldiers.
