Why? I'm not saying anything bad about the soldiers that died...it sucks that they died for whatever reason you want to say. I personally have not heard about any Canadian Military Forces doing anything in my lifetime, so I think it is funny to say what I said.

Our "barely existent" military takes on a lot of the thankless shit jobs nobody else will take...mopping up after everyone else's mess.
Korea, Bosnia, Cypress - and now Afghanistan...just to name a few.
We were also among the first on the beaches in Normandy.

2) I do realize that people find it insulting about ripping on the Canadian soldiers that died. I did that only after I was being ripped on for cracking a joke that may have been in bad taste. Either way I stand by what I said about the IED's (if you even took the time to read the whole thread).
3) Underestimating some peoples ability to see humor in what I said because they are mourning over some people they do not even know is not what I would call being slow. I would classify you assuming you know somebody by what they post on an internet forum, as moronic though if that makes you feel any better.

I initially started this thread since I'm aware there's a large number of Canadian adult webmasters here on GFY. You saw this thread as an opportunity to demonstrate your total lack of tact, respect and knowledge about these tragic events. And when called out on it, you continued to defend and embellish your position.
As for "mourning people we don't even know" - firstly, I am a former Canadian military person, as was my father and many of my ancestors (several of which died in various conflicts Canada was involved in over the years). I am mourning the loss of not only fellow countrymen, but comrades in arms. People who selflessly volunteered to go overseas to help liberate and rebuild a country held hostage by the Taliban and Al Queda terrorists.
And you come into this thread cracking about the "non existent Canadian military".
As a citizen and representative of the United States - you suck.

So, the fact still stands that you do not know any of these people. As for the lack of respect for the sacrifice of others...you're off on that one too. I do respect people that join the military because of a love for their country and those that would like to serve their country to better the planet. But, you don't know these people...so who's to say that they did not join the military as a last resort in life or because they have no direction in life and the military is a way to get paid and get money for schooling. For all you know these 2 guys could not even like Canada and have had no respect for past service men. So, don't pretend you know these guys and can vouch for their credibility.

For that I apologize, but for voicing my opinions, however much you disagree with them, I will never apologize. You've got as much of a right to your opinions as I do. So, I am sorry if you feel that it is pathetic that I reached the age of 28 and have enough sense to choose who I give respect to and have the ability to voice my opinions.
I think your decision to assume, that because you may have been a decent representative of the Canadian Military, that these 2 kids that you don't even know are the same upstanding representatives is small minded.
