From what I hear they haven't released a working production unit yet ... I heard on the grape vine that they have missed 5 production release dates ...people that I know who've bought the camera during the developing stages (1000$ To pre order, allowing you to be first in line before the camera goes out to the public) are very very pissed .. The client I know bought the Arri 20D cus the red has not been delivered even though it was promised for NAB

Really that sucks on the video boards. I used to say cant praise them until the first ones come out and see how they deal with the problems. I wonder what happened they have working units.Peter Jackson shot a short film with one.

As we refine some components to reach our target image quality for the initial camera release. A revised approximate shipping schedule will be posted sometime in the near future.

Correct. One of my clients is in line for two of them ... However Red has missed several delivery dates ..the last one being NAB

I have one on order and Joone from DP told me he has 2 on order. I am sure many adult features will be shot on it but I have no plans on using mine for porn unless it is a favor for one of my existing clients

Will take about $30k or more to deck it out with everything you need to shoot.

At the very least ... I think this will be a better Item in Rental ... At 17000 $ you'll be looking at $300 - 400 a day rental fully geared out ... Extra for various primes.
